FILTER REACTORS
- for low voltage application -
The scope of production covers the entire spectrum of single- and three phase iron core reactors for capacitor detuning (capacitor protection / blocking reactors) and for tuned harmonic filters (filter reactors). Depending on the requirements, the coils are wound with magnet wires or copper resp. aluminum band (foil). Almost 90% of the reactors are produced with aluminium windings and exported to more than 30 major countries. Solid copper bar terminals are secured to the aluminum by a low resistance cold pressure welding method. Computer designed PolyGap™ cores enable Mangoldt reactors to maintain constant inductance over a wide range of current and frequency. The complete assembly is impregnated using a sophisticated vacuum-pressure impregnation process
to achieve minimum losses and reduce noise dissipation.
For system voltages between 120 volts and 1000 volts, there is virtually no limit to the reactor rating within the scope of 50 and 60 Hz. Mangoldt can tailor a design to the customer's exact requirements and the coils can be fitted with temperature monitoring devices Thermal protection is recommended practice for harmonic tuning reactors.
At the customer's option and expense, Mangoldt will perform complete Type Tests which may include a temperature rise test under real load conditions. Partial discharge,
acoustical sound level test, or other special tests can be performed on customer's
request. All design and testing of reactors is carried out in accordance with applicable IEC and UL standards. Mangoldt can supply reactors that meet local market requirements including UL and CUL approvals for use in both the USA and Canada.
